Commonwealth Scholarship

The Commonwealth Scholarship and Fellowship Plan (CSFP) is a programme under which member governments offer scholarships to citizens of other Commonwealth countries. The CSFP was established at the first Commonwealth education conference in 1959 and is reviewed by education ministers at their triennial meetings. CSFP India gives Indians of high academic caliber the chance to pursue their masters, doctorates and academic and professional fellowship programmes in the UK. The programme is jointly managed by the Association of Commonwealth Universities (ACU) in the UK, the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) of the Government of India, the University Grants Commission (UGC) and the British Council. Applications are invited by the MHRD for scholarships and the UGC for fellowships.
All applicants must be Indian citizens and be aged 40 or below at the time of application. They should also have completed their tertiary education in an English medium institute. All candidates need to hold strong academic records in their field of study.
Application forms can be downloaded online from the British Council India website. British Council can also be approached for any help with the application process.
October 6, 2013 for online applications and October 11, 2013 for applications sent through post.
